San Diego
San Diego is a coastal city on the Pacific Ocean in Southern California. It is the eighth largest city in the United States. The population was 1,301,617 at the 2010 census.
The city is known for its warm climate and many parks and beaches. In addition, it is home to SeaWorld San Diego, one of the most popular attractions in the area. With more than 60 rides and exhibits, the park offers an educational and fun experience. Guests can take a closer look at sharks, dolphins, and other sea creatures. During the early part of the 19th century, San Diego was a major port on the west coast. San Diego was a focal point of the explorers’ travels. Jedediah Smith was a famous trapper, known as “the Bible Toter”. He also discovered the trails of California.
San Diego was a port of call for U.S. Navy ships, and a number of retired military personnel lived there. This helped to establish a stable relationship with the Navy. However, the navy had its share of difficulties. On September 21, 1846, the U.S. Sloop-of-War Cyane brought John C. Fremont to the area. His mission was to survey California. They were joined by Kit Carson, who assisted in setting up a temporary independent Bear Flag Republic.
During the Spanish colonial era, the San Diego River was a favored travel route for Spanish explorers. The presence of the San Diego River encouraged the development of neighborhoods along the river. During the 1860s, the presidio began to decay with the disappearance of royal control. A few houses were built near the plots of land, and the garrison was dwindling.
San Diego is a temperate city, which means that its weather is usually mild throughout the year. The average temperature is about 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer and about 21.4 degrees Celsius in the winter. Most of the annual rainfall is between December and March.
San Diego has a large active naval fleet and numerous art studios and museums. Visitors can also visit the world-famous San Diego Zoo. The city is also home to the USS Midway, an aircraft carrier that was turned into a museum.

Despite its long history, the city has been a partisan city for most of its history. Throughout the last few decades, the city has leaned towards the Democratic party. Democrats outnumber Republicans in the city council by a seven to six vote.
